Focus on America

Visionworks and Davis Vision serve their communities through Focus on America, their signature philanthropic initiative launched in 2009. This program provides much-needed vision care services to those who may not otherwise receive the care they need right here in the U.S. It’s well known that proper vision care helps prevent future eye and overall health issues, and is strongly linked to academic success for children. Since the program began, the companies are proud to have reached out to donate more than $10 million in vision products and services.

Through Focus on America, more than 10,000 kids have received a vision screening, 5,000 children have received free eye exams and eyeglasses and hundreds of free screening events have occurred at partnering locations throughout the U.S. In addition, funding has been awarded to several nonprofit organizations who conduct research, assist, educate and/or support those with visions concerns such as blindness, vision disorders and diseases that affect vision.

Let's Go See

Let’s Go See is a national movement to raise awareness of the importance of annual eye exams for children as part of their yearly health routine. As a parent, how can you be sure your kids' vision isn't keeping them from doing their best in school, enjoying life fully, and being successful?

Visionworks and Davis Vision are also giving away 10,000 comprehensive eye exams and complete pairs of glasses to children in need. The goal is single-focused: we want children to get annual eye exams. Every child. Every year. An eye exam may be the simplest test kids ever take. It’s certainly the most important for helping shape their future outlook.

Together We Can Stop Diabetes

The leading cause of blindness in working-age American adults is diabetes. That’s a staggering fact and one we can all personally help to mitigate by educating others on the importance of annual eye exams. Most people do not realize that a comprehensive eye exam can uncover much more than just vision correction needs - many diseases can also be detected including high blood pressure and diabetes.

At Visionworks and Davis Vision, we’re passionate about helping people maintain healthy vision throughout their lives. For this reason, we have partnered with the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. Visionworks and Davis Vision team members will be on site at 28 Walks in 2015 and will pass out informational material on vision and diabetes, as well as local store locations and special coupons for eye exams or eyeglasses to Walkers.
